Blue Comet SPT Layzner

Blue Comet SPT Layzner (蒼き流星SPTレイズナー, Aoki Ryūsei SPT Reizunā?), sometimes translated as Blue Meteor SPT Layzner, is an anime series produced by Sunrise between 1985 and 1986. It frequently get's attention with mecha fans due to it's mecha designs, and by being the brainchild of Ryousuke Takahashi. Ryousuke Takahashi being known in mecha circles for creating Votoms, Dougram, and other anime that use a "realistic" aesthetic. Rumors have it that Layzner was canceled because the paralels the story drew to Japan's own history made the audience uncomfortable.

Sadly Lazyner is probably best known in mecha circles for only having a few fansubbed episodes, with a wait of months and years between episodes.
